We strive to serve patients with a comfortable and creative healing environment from the moment they walk in the door. We offer minimally invasive neurosurgical procedures with personalized care and attention. We understand that many health issues with the brain and spine can be difficult for general physicians to diagnose. Patients will also have a difficult time describing the pain.
Fortunately, we have the expertise and tools to determine the cause of the pain and develop the most effective treatment method. Since no single patient is exactly alike, the treatment plan that we develop for the specific condition may differ. We will explain every step of the process prior to beginning the surgery. HOW WILL I KNOW IF I NEED SURGERY?
There are numerous factors that can determine if surgery is the best treatment option. A general physician may refer a patient to us if symptoms of serious brain or spinal health issues appear. In other cases, patients may seek our institute after other treatment options have failed. When we begin the examination, we will go over a patient’s history and determine if there are any effective non-surgical options.
HOW MUCH WILL TREATMENT COST?
The cost of treatment will vary per the type of surgery and the patient’s insurance. We can go over the details of treatment costs during the consultation. If you have any questions about the cost or the insurance we accept, give us a call at (813) 751-2029.
HOW LONG DOES SURGERY NORMALLY TAKE?
The length of surgery will depend entirely on the type of surgery and the patient. In some cases, the surgery can take anywhere from 4 to 12 hours. We will make sure to go over the logistics of the surgery, including the time frame, with the patient before the surgery.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER THE SURGERY?
Following the surgery, the patient may need to remain bedridden for at least a few days. After the bedrest, the patient will be able to begin adjusting back into a normal routine for lifestyle. However, it will depend entirely on the type of procedure and extent of the patient’s condition.
IS THERE ANY REHABILITATION AFTER THE SURGERY?
Depending on the type of surgery, yes, there will be rehabilitation after the surgery. Rehabilitation can include a mix of physical therapy sessions, exercises and stretches at home, pain management and other techniques for helping to relieve pain. We will go over all possible options for rehabilitation with the patient.
